EmPower+ for Renters:

The EmPower+ program in New York State is available to eligible low-and-moderate income renters living in 1-to-4-family residential buildings. Renters can recieve:

• Free Home Energy Assessment: A professional evaluation of the rental space or building to find energy waste and safety issues

• Direct-Install Items: No-cost efficiency and safety upgrades like energy-efficient lighting, weather-stripping, door sweeps, and carbon monoxide/smoke detectors

• Major Energy Upgrades: Funding for insulation, air sealing, and heating/water-heating equipment
