Cornell Cooperative Extension

The mission of Cooperative Extension is to put knowledge to work in pursuit of economic vitality, ecological sustainability and social well-being. We bring local experience and research based solutions together, helping New York State families and communities thrive in our rapidly changing world. Extension staff and trained volunteers deliver education programs, conduct applied research, and encourage community collaborations. Our educators connect people with the information they need on topics such as commercial and consumer agriculture; nutrition and health; youth and families; finances; energy efficiency; economic and community development; and sustainable natural resources.

Sustainable Westchester

Sustainable Westchester is the expression of Westchester’s local governments’ determination to turn environmental challenges into opportunities to improve the quality of life, economy and future prospects of the citizens of Westchester County. It brings grassroots and municipal forces together to achieve concrete change. Sustainable Westchester, a non-profit municipal member organization, was created in 2013 as the Northern Westchester Energy Action Coalition. The organization's accomplishments are rooted in a history of successful community campaigns, in which the competitive process for municipalities to participate ensures deep engagement and a shared commitment to success. Examples include Solarize campaigns in 22 municipalities, HeatSmart/EnergySmart Homes campaigns in 13 municipalities and Clean Energy Community Campaigns.

New Yorkers for Clean Power

NYCP is a statewide collaborative campaign focused on advancing solar, wind, energy efficiency, electric vehicles, renewable heating and cooling, as well as creating jobs in these industries for all communities in New York.
